Summer is a great time to read. Your teacher librarians have put together a summer reading list with 60 books from which to choose. The books are divided into 5 different categories representing a number of different genres and reading levels.

Don't feel like you need to stick to any one list. Pick from them all! Set reading goals for yourself as the summer begins. For instance, maybe you want to choose 10 books to read over the summer. Maybe one per month is enough for you. Perhaps you want to try to work you way through all of the books. Wow! That would certainly be ambitious. It's up to you. Whatever you choose, remember that reading is a great way to relax and recharge!

It is commonly understood that certain books are for certain ages. High schoolers read Catcher in the Rye, and 1984, but super-great reads like The Mouse and the Motorcycle aren't even on their radar. Well it's time for that to change! Mature minds can (and should) enjoy a good middle-grade read every once in a while. Go on and indulge in these new(ish) wonderful tales by sophisticated, acclaimed authors. You'll be glad you did.*
