Check out an eBook!!!

You can now check out eBooks and audiobooks on your Kindle, Nook, iPad, iPhone, or other eReader. The FHPS media centers, grades 7-12, now subscribe to eBook lender Overdrive. This is the same service that is offered through KDL and GRPL, and we're hoping it catches on with our students here at FHPS.

We're beginning with a modest 250 eBooks. Our intention is to add titles throughout the year, and then hopefully expand to include all grades next year.

Mickey Bolitar lives an atypical life for a 14 year-old. His father is dead, and his mother is locked up in a drug rehab program. Mickey lives with his uncle Myron, trying to adapt to his new life, when the Bat Lady mutters something that turns his world upside down. “Your father isn’t dead. He is very much alive,” she mutters. Sure, the bat lady is the old, crazy  neighborhood shut-in, but her words jolt Mickey and start haunting his thoughts. Is it possible that his father isn’t dead? Those ominous words propel Harlan Coben’s young adult novel Shelter into a fast-paced, action packed thriller.

The students on Mr. May and Mrs. Hason's Passport Team created dioramas to show their favorite scene in a book bowl book of their choice.  The results were amazing!
